Swimming Lessons
We just got back from Trevor's second swimming class. He is in lessons all month, every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Trevor has been in the water practically since he was born, but has never had any swimming lessons before. They started him out in a class with 2 other boys at least a year older and one little boy about the same age. They were trying to teach them to put their hands together in front of them and kick with their feet. The other kids were picking it up quicker so today they put Trevor in a class with smaller kids who were more at his skill level. He may not be the fastest learner, but he is having a blast. He cries on the way home because he wants to swim some more!

What a neat kid Trevor must be. That is such a fun age....Hope your summer is filled with adventures
Linda
I would have thought that Trevor would be a faster learner since he has been in the water almost all his life; however, playing in the water and being instructed as to what to do in the water are two different things. I know he will be a great swimmer. Kudos to you for having him take swimming lessons. There are so many children in this world that do not know how to swim. You are a great mother and parent.
It's great you're getting him started so early with swimming lessons. We tried to make sure all ours swam early on, for enjoyment and safety.
Yeah, I agree with the others. Every child should be taught to swim, but ESPECIALLY those who live near water or visit the beach, the lake, etc. Keep us up to date on his adventures. I'll bet he learns fast once he understands what he's supposed to do. Look how fast he figured out skiing!

Linda - Trevor is awesome, this is a very fun age!
Anon - I thought Trevor would pick it up quicker too, but he sure is enjoying himself.
Fred - I agree, enjoyment AND safety!
Dad - don't worry I'll keep you posted.
Hey i agree, Swimming classes should be something that a person takes up when young. and most kids love swimming anyway!
Very cool, good luck Trevor. He'll get it and all that matters is that he has fun.
